Cherry Blossoms: Peak bloom predicted for March 27 to March 31

The following are place to enjoy the blooms.

Peak bloom occurs when 70 percent of the Yoshino cherry trees that surround the Tidal Basin are in bloom.

Those delicate pink flowers will likely reach full bloom in five to 10 days, and will be in near full bloom by this weekend, according to UW arborist Sara Shores.

The National Park Service announced Monday peak bloom dates for Washington, D.C.'s famous cherry trees have been pushed back.

The second annual Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the arrival of Spring and blooming of the cherry blossoms.

This year's festival will run from March 20-April 15. A stretch of high temperatures over 50 degrees creates favorable conditions for the cherry blossoms.

Spring is just around the corner, which means the cherry blossoms at the University of Washington's Quad are nearly in full bloom.

The Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival is set amongst 255 Akebono cherry blossom trees at Garry Point Park, on the mouth of the Fraser River.
