Wisconsin police chase Greyhound bus into IL

Initially, authorities reported a "possible hostage situation".

A person is in custody after a police pursuit of a Greyhound bus near the Wisconsin-Illinois border, Illinois State Police said.

Passengers were removed from a Greyhound bus traveling eastbound on I-94 near north suburban Wadsworth after reports of a disorderly and possibly armed passenger, who is now in custody.

Law enforcement officers began chasing the bus in Wisconsin, the release said.

The pursuit started on Interstate 94 in Racine County, Wisconsin around 10:06 PM on Friday, January 12th and traveled south down the interstate into northern IL.

40 passengers were able to evacuate the bus and no injuries were reported, according to police.

Lanes remain closed while the investigation continues.
