'The Greatest Showman' swings to top of Billboard 200 chart

Playing in 300 theaters across the country, the sing-along version displays the songs' lyrics on the screen, allowing the audience to harmonize along with Jackman and co-stars Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Zendaya and Keala Settle.

The songwriting duo behind The Greatest Showman soundtrack, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, said they were "honoured and thrilled" at its success.

The pair told OfficialCharts.com: "We're honoured and thrilled that United Kingdom audiences are responding to The Greatest Showman. Fingers crossed! Truly, we are blown away and could not be more excited".

Three of The Greatest Showman's tracks are also in the Official Singles Chart this week: This Is Me is at number 16, The Greatest Show is at 23 and Efron and Zendaya duet Rewrite The Stars is at number 26.

The album soared from the fifth spot to the No. 1 position on the January 13 chart, marking the first soundtrack to lead the list since Fifty Shades Darker in March of 2017.

Sheeran's album is now at number two, and Sam Smith's The Thrill Of It All is at number three.

Other big climbers this week include Post Malone's debut Stoney, up nine places to 24, David Bowie's Legacy leaps eight to return to the Top 40 at 33 on the second anniversary of his death, and Phil Collins' Take A Look A Me Now - Complete vaults 24 places to Number 36.
