If Amazon Alexa owned CES 2017, the Google Assistant has arguably repeated the feat at this year's Las Vegas showcase.

The idea is for Google to remain competitive with Amazon's Alexa.

According to Qualcomm, this more powerful version of its platform (SDA624) can drive a Full HD+ display, capture 4K video and support Tensor Flow for on-device machine learning.

Google, Lenovo, JBL have come up with a new set of devices named as "smart displays".

Japanese automaker Toyota will integrate Amazon's Alexa voice assistant into some of its cars as the auto industry increasingly adopts the tech world's hottest offerings to improve the vehicle experience.

Dish customers will be able to use Google Assistant on Google Home, Android phones and iPhones to control their Dish equipment. Recently, Google showcased "smart displays" featuring their AI.

The trouble is that Amazon (and Google) has first-party Alexa (and Google Assistant) products that are quite good. "And in the auto a true automotive assistant, which knows what drivers want and how cars work, is probably a better choice for the "driving" end of that interface than a general goal assistant coming from the home environment".

It has an 8-inch touchscreen display and speakers it says are tuned by Meridian Audio, on either side. Additionally, Assistant will also be available on more headphones this year from Jaybird, JBL, LG and Sony. It's no secret that Amazon Echos are selling like hot cakes, so if Google wants to close the gap, it needs to get into more devices. The new Lenovo's smart display uses the company's IoT platform. Regarding the device specifications LG hasn't spoken a lot. With a display, Google Assistant will be able to play a YouTube video, search for map directions, call a cab and track it, as well as pull up images through Google Photos. We'll update this story if we get a response.
