But Carr hit a 3-pointer with 3:10 left, a 2 with 1:09 left, two free throws with 23 seconds left and the winning jumper from the left elbow with 2.7 seconds to go.

The overtime period went back-and-forth before the home team pulled away.

"It's really disappointing that we come out with an opportunity to win a game like this and we just don't come out with fire until we're down 16 points midway through the second half", Miles told the Husker Sports Network. They shot 38 percent the first half.

Penn State hosts Minnesota (13-5, 2-3) on Monday. Shep Garner knocked down an 3-pointer from the corner off of a behind-the-back pass from Carr to give the Nittany Lions a 42-26 lead two minutes into the second half. They combined for four free throws and Watson hit the final shot of regulation moments later to send it to overtime 65-65. "I called a timeout and I said, 'Guys, one of two things is going to happen: one, we're going to get embarrassed, or two, we're going to decide to just play harder than these guys".

Glynn Watson Jr. and Isaac Copeland scored 21 points apiece while Isaiah Roby and Anton Gill scored 12 and 10, respectively, for the Cornhuskers (12-7, 3-3). He scored five points - 10.8 fewer than his average - and made 1 of 9 shots. He added another free throw one possession later to get within 61-60 with three minutes on the clock. Nebraska eventually tied the score at 63 on a Copeland free throw with 2:04 left.

Stevens' final field goal gave Penn State a 65-63 lead, but Watson tied it with a jumper at the 1:27 mark.

Nebraska led 15-12, but the Nittany Lions went on an 8-1 spurt, keyed by five points from Lamar Stevens, to build a 20-16 lead with 8:15 left in the first half.

Up 33-24 at halftime, Penn State seemed to take the foot off the gas in the second half and was outscored 41-32.

With the win, the Nittany Lions are 3-3 in the Big Ten and 13-6 overall for the season. "But we didn't do enough with discipline and execution".

Miles said he couldn't offer an update yet on Tshimanga's status. Lamar Stevens scored 26 points and Mike Watkins added 20 and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Nittany Lions (13-6, 3-3 Big Ten), who led by as many as 16 in the second half. Carr finished with 17 points on a dismal 5-of-21 shooting, but he came up with the biggest shots of the night in overtime.

Nebraska hosts IL (10-8, 0-5) on Monday. He's reportedly unhappy with his role this season and his development over the past season and a half. "It's just that our offense got worse as the thing went on". I don't know how it's going to play out, but at this time Jordy has my full support.

"You can't just get blasted in the first half like that", Nebraska coach Tim Miles said. It marked the first time in 19 games that Nebraska featured a different starting lineup.

Penn State played well in the first half and appeared well on its way to victory.

Miles admitted that he might have stuck with the 1-3-1 a bit too long, as his guards started easing up on contesting perimeter shots down the stretch which led to some open looks to PSU.

The Huskers' leading scorer at 15.8 points per game, Palmer played a total of seven minutes in the second half and didn't play at all in overtime.
