Stars at the 75th Golden Globes wore black and made powerful speeches tackling sexual harassment and gender inequality. But, the drumbeat for her to make a presidential run was well underway.

The TV mogul and philanthropist took the moment to deliver the most moving-and important-speech of the night, in which she addressed the rampant sexual harassment and abuse allegations that plagued Hollywood in 2017, and how the tide is hopefully turning. We break down what's behind the polar temperatures that gripped the east coast over the weekend and the upcoming warm-up. Brad Anderson, the Iowa state director for President Barack Obama's reelection, tweeted, "Call me Oprah".

Winfrey said. "And it's here with every woman who chooses to say, "Me too" and every man, every man who chooses to listen".

"I value the press more than ever before", she added, equating modern days to "complicated times".

She said during Monday's (08.01.18) episode of the show: "I wouldn't underestimate her, I think you're 1,000 percent right". Meanwhile, many women walking the carpet, including Viola Davis, Meryl Streep, Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington, and Meryl Streep gave powerful statements about joining Time's Up and wearing black.

She said "a new day is on the horizon" when nobody will be a victim of sexual violence as she became the first black woman to be given the Cecil B DeMille award at the ceremony.

On Twitter Sunday, actress Rose McGowan called out the "Hollywood fakery", responding to a tweet from Italian Actress Asia Argento, who, like McGowan, has said that she was assaulted by Weinstein.

"Oprah for president" seemed to be a theme during last night's show, beginning with the event's host, former Saturday Night Live star Seth Meyers. "I also know that after years of watching the Oprah show, you always have the right to change your mind".

However, Winfrey endorsed both Barack Obama (who won the presidency) and Hillary Clinton (who lost), so her endorsement doesn't mean automatic success.

Just three months ago, Oprah squashed any prospect of running for president in 2020, telling longtime friend Gayle King, "There will be no running for office of any kind for me". While Steyer advocates for President Donald Trump's impeachment, he's focusing his financial clout to help Democrats running for the House and Senate. Thoroughly impressed, she brought the senator onto her show in 2006.

"It came from such a pure instinctive place", she said on the podcast.

While black was the palette of choice, stars spun their own twist with an array of textures and silhouettes - Tracee Ellis Ross donned a black headwrap with a black satin Marc Jacobs halterneck dress, Claire Foy opted for a black tuxedo suit and Debra Messing wore a black sequined dress with pants.

The 64-year-old media mogul has become a cultural phenomenon over the past 30-plus years, born into a poor home in MS but breaking through as a television news and talk show personality in the 1980s.
