That flirtatious environment continued to move forward, which led to us making out, some heavy petting. It was a very mutual, spontaneous, physical moment and our hormones were obviously very much in that moment and she performed oral sex'.

A pastor at a mega-church in Tennessee who drove a teenage girl into the woods and sexually assaulted her has said he doesn't think he did anything wrong because she was "flirtatious".

'Not only did I suddenly feel this enormous guilt for doing what Andy had asked me to do but I also started to feel that this was my fault somehow because I didn't stop him'. In order to remove our potential bias from the situation, we have placed Larry on a leave of absence while an investigation by a third-party organization is undertaken.

"I'm going to be taking a leave of absence for the goal of cooperating with a third-party, independent firm that will come in and do an audit of my ministry, the policies that we work with at Highpoint, and get their assessment on my fitness for ministry", Savage said.

An Austin church leader has now been accused of covering up the incident.

But despite the freakish response by his congregation, Highpoint Church has finally issued Savage a leave of absence, effective immediately, Chris Conlee, the church's lead pastor said in a statement on Thursday night as reported by CNN.

Conlee added that the church will "continue to support Andy and his family" despite the "mutually agreed upon" decision that he should take a leave of absence.

"We want to maintain trust in both Andy and our church leadership that we are not only doing things right, but we are doing right things".

Now, the church is looking for "a qualified, independent, third-party organization to do a full audit of our church processes and Andy's ministry". He took her to a wooded area, unzipped his trousers, took his penis out, and asked her for oral sex. There were trees all around.

"Jules, I am deeply sorry for my actions 20 years ago".

'Not only did I suddenly feel this huge guilt for doing what Andy had asked me to do but I also started to feel that this was my fault somehow because I didn't stop him, ' she wrote. "I hope they are talking". I thought, maybe that's what this was about, maybe he has some secret to tell me, like perhaps he was moving to another church.

Instead, she writes, he drove down a dead end road, turned off the vehicle's lights, pulled his penis out of his trousers and asked her to perform oral sex on him. We were stopped, and he turned the headlights off. Nevertheless, Woodson said the apology did not change the alleged wrong that was done to her 20 years ago, CBS News said. I remember feeling that this must mean that Andy loved me. What have I done?

'I am sorry and I humbly ask for your forgiveness, I love you all very much, ' he said, to which the audience stood up and roared in applause.

"Until now, I did not know there was unfinished business with Jules", he told congregants. In a phone interview with the New York Times, Woodson said she was disgusted by Savage's comments during the service, explaining it had never been "dealt with" because the incident was never reported to the authorities. But Texas Law also identifies as assault a sexual encounter that involves "a clergyman who causes the other person to submit or participate by exploiting the other person's emotional dependency on the clergyman in the clergyman's professional character as spiritual adviser". The statute of limitations has passed and no charges would be able to be filed.

"Using the current statute, we would have some possible options, but we are limited to the law as it was at the time of the offense in 1998", said the statement released by Capt. Dan Zientek. "As a result we are unable to investigate and seek justice to the full extent of what would we normally would in such a case", the statement said.

During a service earlier this month streamed on the Tennessee church's YouTube page, Savage admitted he "regretfully had a sexual incident with a female high school senior in the church". He is a father of five boys.

"I apologized and sought forgiveness from her, her parents, her discipleship group, the church staff, and the church leadership, who informed the congregation".

The 42-year-old pastor's troubled past came to light last week after a woman posted a lengthy message on WatchKeep saying Savage sexually assaulted her in 1998 after he offered to drive her home from church.

He said he told church leaders what happened and no one called the police.

"His apology isn't enough because number one, he's lying about how he handled it". Lead pastor Chris Conlee then leads the church in prayer.
