Five new design packs are also on offer for the 570GT, with McLaren taking inspiration from popular customer combinations to come up with these special options.

Clearly McLaren buyers feel much the same, with a huge 80 per cent of 570 sales being the 570GT, so McLaren has decided they'll make the 570S nearly obsolete by offering a new Sport Handling Pack for the 570GT, which essentially gives it back the edge and handling of the 570S.

McLaren say they expect some 60 per cent of 570GT buyers to opt for the new Handling Pack, and we'd expect the 20 per cent of buyers who now opt for the 570S to shrink to nearly nothing. After all, the 570GT actually boasts a trunk for light cargo.

Including stiffer springs, quicker steering plus new uprights and actuators, the pack costs £4,900 in addition to the GT's £157,000 price tag. Additionally, the Sport Pack adds Pirelli P-Zero Corsa rubber all round.

McLaren is also offering a new roof via the MSO group that adds an electrochromic roof or the 570GT with driver controlled variable tint. The auto gets standard carbon-ceramic brakes and a Sport Pack is optional.

The roof utilizes an electric current to trigger a change in the opacity of the glass which comes in handy on hot, sunny days. These include: "Silica White exterior with Saddle Tan and Carbon Black interior; Pacific Blue with Jet Black and Areia (cream); Blade Silver with Natural Tan and Carbon Black; Fire Black with Jet Black and Areia; and Storm Grey with Jet Black and Almond White".

Furthermore, the latest 570S Spider exterior colours that were exclusive to the model have now been made available across the entire Sports Series range that include the 540C, 570S Coupe and 570GT. All 570S Coupes earn a 12-millimeter (0.47-inch) taller rear spoiler, which was introduced as part of an optional Track Package in 2017. The 570S starts at $192,500 and the Spider rings in at $208,800.
