She walked from Prague to Seminole twice in search of her family.

And when she couldn't find her family the first time, the homesick pooch made the journey again.

After moving to a home Seminole, Oklahoma that didn't allow her original family to keep her, Cathleen was placed with another family temporarily in the nearby town of Prague while the animal shelter worked on finding her a new home, WSMV reported.

Cathleen, a Great Pyrenees mix, had been given up after her family in Seminole County, Oklahoma, US, moved home and didn't have the space to look after her anymore, US television station KCCI reported.

"Her heart wants to be with them, but they can not keep her", the Seminole Humane Society/Seminole Animal Shelter wrote on its Facebook page on Monday.

'Cathleen is precious and her original family loved her very much.

She was described as the flawless family pet - humble, kind, healthy, housebroken, loves children, plays well with other dogs and doesn't pull on a leash.

On Friday, the shelter announced that Cathleen now has a new home in Texas.

"She's very sweet. Very calm and docile". "We are working hard on just the flawless, secure place!"

The adoption fee for Cathleen is $25. "I tried to get her, but I couldn't, so I called Animal Control", she said.

When the story made it to Twitter, it made many users there sad that the family gave her up.

That's when Seminole Humane Society stepped in.
