There are no 300 cuts in Padmavat, say the films producers, appreciating the balanced, fair and transparent process followed by the censor board in suggesting five modifications in the movie.

CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi on Tuesday said the censor board had cleared "Padmavat" and reports about cuts were "absolutely untrue".

According to The New Indian Express, the State's government said that there was no order as such to ban the film's release.

The CBFC has suggested five modifications in "Padmavati", which included changing the film's title to "Padmavat", in December previous year.

At least 100 members of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena were detained from Mumbai's Peddar Road area on Friday for protesting outside the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) office in connection with the release of film "Padmavat".

Karni Sena members though are not satisfied with the changes suggested. As the protests spread through different states, the release date of the film was postponed. The modification includes changing the disclaimer that the movie does not claim historical accuracy and added that the movie does not subscribe to the Sati system practice. Opposing the CBFC's decision to release the film, a Karni Sena leader said, "Merely changing the name of the film isn't enough. We will not let her dignity be maligned", she said in a statement.

Modifications to the song Ghoomar were sought to make the depiction befitting to the character being portrayed, apart from modifications to the incorrect/misleading reference to historical places.

Bhansali Productions and Viacom18 Motion Pictures have accepted the above changes. All the two actors will be under round-the-clock security cover until the release of the movie.

Last night, the official social media pages of Padmavati also changed the title to Padmaavat. With the official handles changing their names, we are now waiting for new film stills to release. The historians were astonished whether Padmini actually existed.
