One of Mourinho's first games in charge was the 2016 Community Shield at Wembley against Premier League champions Leicester. Mata was named as a substitute by Mourinho, but came on after 63 minutes to replace goalscorer Jesse Lingard.

Juan Mata has revealed how veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic made a typically-garish first impression on Manchester United's staff, when first arriving at the club last term.

Mkhitaryan is, however, a performer who enjoys similar acclaim, as a national hero in Armenia, and was able to prove that point to Ibrahimovic during a Europa League meeting with FC Rostov in March.

Ibrahimovic went on to score 28 goals in 46 appearances for United in his debut season before having his involvement in a Europa League-winning campaign prematurely curtailed by a nasty knee injury suffered back in April.

Who would you start for Manchester United - Zlatan, Lukaku or both?

Interestingly, Zlatan seems to be above Mkhitaryan in the Man United pecking order since the Swde returned from seven months out with an ACL injury.

He continued, stating: "Everyone knows Ibrahimovic calls himself the God".

He told local Armenian radio: "Zlatan has a strong temper".

Many fans were delighted with the Spaniard's arrival but knew that Moyes' only bought him to try and rescue his own career at Old Trafford.

"I'm joking. There were many Armenians chanting my name".

"Firstly, that I had no kind of personal problem with him, no matter what the press said. After that he understood there is another God - me!"

It's an absolutely blockbuster Manchester Derby taking place this Sunday, and naturally this fixture is dominating global football headlines today. We kept in touch even when he was recovering out of Manchester.
