'We'll be in this little newborn bubble for a few weeks but we wanted to pop our heads out for a moment to share the news directly with you, ' she wrote.

Motivational speaker Turia Pitt and fiancé Michael Hoskin have welcomed their baby boy into the world.

Burns survivor Turia Pitt has given birth to a baby boy after a much publicised first pregnancy.

'We are totally in love, and just so stoked!' she added.

'Then I write a list of all the good things - how grateful I am to still be here, to have a handsome partner like Michael, and to get to experience this. "Meet Hakavai Hoskin", she wrote.

The word Hakavai, is the Shona word for "will be".

Pitt made headlines in 2011, when she sustained burns to 65 per cent of her body from a catastrophic bush fire, during an ultra-marathon in Western Australia.

She lost seven fingers, endured six months in hospital and spent two years in recovery.

Since then, Turia has shared her pregnancy experience on social media for us all to smile/cry happy tears over; from safari-ing in Namibia to exploring the surroundings of the Northern Territory's Uluru, this is one "bumpy" ride we're sure Turia would've been happy to stay on.

'Yeah, of course, with any big change approaching, there's a certain element of uncertainty.

Pitt also wrote "when you know that you're going to experience pain, that can be pretty scary".

'Then I write a list of all the good things - how grateful I am to still be here, to have a handsome partner like Michael, and to get to experience this. How cool it will be to meet my son.

"He had to look after me for years, and he was so patient, so caring".

"I want my son to be resilient", she told us.

'If I look at it in the empowering way, I feel better - so that's the way I choose, ' Turia concluded.
