Grey and Bruce counties are under a Snow Squall Warning today, and Huron, Perth and northern Wellington remain under a Snow Squall Watch. Bursts of blowing snow are expected in the snow squalls.

Local snowfall amounts of 15 cm are expected under the heaviest snow squalls.

Conditions are favourable for lake-effect snow squalls from Lake Huron and Georgian Bay beginning late this morning. The snow squalls will slowly drift southward out of the region this afternoon as winds veer into the northwest and weaken. Portions of Highways 17, 6 and 69 are likely to be affected.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.
