Well done Ed! He's just received an MBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace for his services in music and his dedication to charity.

An MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) is handed out for an outstanding achievement in the community which ends up having a long-lasting impact.

He has also used his celebrity to support several charities, including children's hospices, anti-poverty campaigns and an AIDS charity.

Sheeran is open to performing at the forthcoming royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

As he collected the honor at Buckingham Palace, the Divide singer-songwriter said previous generations of Sheerans would be proud.

"I think it's persistence", Sheeran, who was recently forced to cancel tour dates due to arm injuries sustained in a bicycle accident, insisted.

"I don't have a vast amount of talent compared to other people", Sheeran told reporters while speaking at the palace the Daily Mail reported.

At the end, Ed had a brief conversation with Prince Charles and told him that he was travelling to NY tomorrow for another gig.

He said Bill was a "massive loyalist" and would be "pretty proud".

"He had all the commemorative plates and stuff", Sheeran said, "and he died on this day four years ago, so it's actually quite a nice full circle thing". Even though we think that Sheeran is one talented guy, his persistence is definitely admirable, and does have a lot to do with his eventual success in the music industry, so bravo.
