According to the complaint, the driver warned her that she would face dire consequences if the matter was reported to the police or Ola Cabs management. So I couldn't open the doors and he tried to come close to me.

The incident occurred at around 10.30 pm on Sunday night. It was when the vehicle reached the Intermediate Ring Road that the driver allegedly attempted to sexually assault her, while she was in the backseat of the auto.

Now this is not the first time the incident has been reported against the rental cab drivers harassing and molesting their passengers on board. The reports added that the woman was travelling alone from Indiranagar to BTM Layout when the cab driver parked the auto on an isolated road and allegedly locked the vehicle before groping her.

The driver then started calling the woman on her number to warn her after which she blocked his number.

Making things worse, her mobile phone was also out of charge and she could not call the police.

The woman said she has complained only to the Ola Cabs safety team and did not lodge a formal complaint with the police. She then ran away from the spot till she reached the Ejipura traffic signal, about 500 metres away.

The taxi aggregator has also urged the woman to lodge a formal complaint with the authorities and they would extend their full support to the investigation against the said driver. "I still didn't file a written complaint with the police yet", she added. "We have zero tolerance to such incidents and the driver has been suspended from the platform as an immediate action upon receiving the complaint", PTI quoted Ola as saying. Based on her complaint, the company suspended the driver's service. Following this, she started receiving threat calls from Reddy, the complaint said. Ola, in an official statement, said: "We regret the unfortunate experience the customer had during her ride".
