Luke Shaw made the most of a rare opportunity to start for Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho describing his performance as "very, very good". At half-time we were playing well and I was not unhappy.

Shaw's lack of game time this season has led to speculation he could leave in January but Mourinho suggested he would like to keep the former Southampton man, who was voted the club's man-of the-match by supporters.

"A very positive performance, especially with the balls going forward". "Especially with the ball going forward, really risky, creating a lot, great intensity in his game, no surprise in minute 80 he is feeling the consequences of that intensity". It was no surprise that he was feeling it toward the end. "But if you can get him playing there's a chance". But we've seen what he brings, he turns defence into attack so quickly and he's a flying machine really.

"If I could choose goalscorers, I would always choose the strikers".

Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic have both played starring roles while Victor Lindelof has gradually been eased into first-team action. Romelu Lukaku's work for the team every match is insane.

Mourinho will hope he can persuade the 22-year-old - who was part of the German side which won the Confederations Cup in the summer - his future lies at Old Trafford. "Not for me, but for him".

And it's safe to say Manchester United fans were thrilled for him. "Honestly I am happy with his performance". "It's not easy to give an opportunity to a player who doesn't play for many months in matches where the team really needs [a] result". We only play again in February. Until then I have to concentrate on the English competitions.

"We see the quality that he's got, he's so strong and powerful".

Add to that a controversial interview Rose did over the summer about Tottenham's transfer strategy and he has found it hard to get back into the team.
