More noteworthy perhaps is Brighton hosting Crystal Palace, a game that like Liverpool vs. Everton is a derby draw.

It will be the first FA Cup derby between the sides since Liverpool prevailed 2-1 in a 2012 semi-final - the Reds going on to lose to Chelsea in the final by the same margin.

Brighton & Hove Albion will also play host to their rivals, having been paired with Crystal Palace at the Amex Stadium.

However, the Toffees have won their last two league games to climb into the top half of the table.

Holders Arsenal will begin their bid for a 14th FA Cup away to Nottingham Forest, with last season's beaten finalists Chelsea also travelling to face Championship opposition in the form of Norwich City.

Town drew a mouthwatering home clash against the Premier League winners in the third round draw tonight but they still have to beat non-league side Hereford in a replay if they want to welcome now England forward Vardy back to Highbury. They face Wigan in a replay.

Premier League leaders Manchester City are at home to Burnley, while potential upsets include West Ham's trip to League One high-flyers Shrewsbury, and Championship leaders Wolves at home to ailing Swansea.

The Hereford manager, Peter Beadle, said the prospect of facing Leicester at Edgar Street would give his Southern Premier League side all the motivation they need to see off Fleetwood.

Third round ties are due to take place over the weekend of January 6, with matches selected for television coverage to be announced in due course.
